The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning that will remain in effect until 4 p.m. this afternoon.  Kern County disposal sites in the valley communities will remain open however, the public may wish to postpone trips to landfills or transfer stations until weather conditions improve.

“We recommend that anyone that needs to visit a disposal site today use extreme caution due to the strong winds, said Doug Landon, Director of the Kern County Waste Management Department, “and remind all disposal site customers to properly cover and secure trash loads to avoid waste from being blown or falling off vehicles and onto roads”.
